Fifty-year-old David Christenson, a Britton man, remains in the hospital tonight. Police say he was hit by a vehicle on Saturday night and the driver took off.

A one thousand dollar reward is now being offered to anyone with information that helps police catch the person responsible.

David Christenson was walking along Seventh Street until a vehicle hit him. The vehicle took off and then emergency help arrived. Now, David is in the hospital in Fargo.

Markings of where David was hit are painful reminders of what was supposed to be a fun-filled evening. On Saturday night, David's daughter was giving away her snow queen crown and his family attended the pageant.

David decided to walk home and was hit by a vehicle. He has a fractured skull, cracked ribs and until today he could not even talk. Rollin Christenson wants the person responsible brought to justice.

"When you see your son lying there, incapacitated as he was and beat up and bloody all over. You know it just hurts a father."

The Christenson's are praying for their son's quick recovery.

"Whether we find the person who did it will make no difference in David's health or anything. But it's just the idea that people just don't hit people with automobiles and leave them laying. I just can't stomach that."

If you have any information regarding this case you are asked to call the Marshall County Sheriff's office at 605-448-5181.

This is such a sad story. Life is so precious I can not believe someone could hit someone and drive off! Most people feel terrible if they run an animal over I couldn't imagine drving off if I hit a person. I am so sorry to the family and I hope david recovers quickly!

Forget the $1000. If I found this guy, I'd knock him unconscious and drag him downtown. You've got to be kidding- another hit and run? Are people still human these days? Wow.
