Sioux Falls Man Identified in Construction Death

We now know the name of the man killed at a construction site in Dakota Dunes, SD. Gabe Koenigsfeld, 27, was working when a dirt sand embankment gave way and trapped him underneath. The accident happened Tuesday morning. Koenigsfeld had been working for J.J. Concrete of Tea, SD at the time of his death.

Koenigsfeld is a former South Dakota State University football player, he graduated with a degree in engineering in 2006. The Marble Rock, IA native was a mainstay for the Jacks as a starting defensive end.

According to the Globe Gazette of Mason City, IA, Koenigsfeld's wife, Stephanie, is expecting their first child.
