Because of a growing need Brandon city officials are opening doors of a new food pantry tonight. The ribbon was cut at the Brandon area food pantry's new location at 406 Main Avenue tonight. The city partnered with the Brandon Area Pantry Board to find a new bigger space to help more people get through the doors. The new pantry will be open on Tuesdays from 4pm to 6pm and on Saturdays from 9am to 12pm. Pantry board members say just this year their pantry has served around 522 people.
