Round Extends Propane Order

By Associated Press

Gov. Mike Rounds says a shortage of propane in South Dakota continues to be an emergency.

Rounds on Wednesday issued an executive order to continue expedited deliveries of commercial agricultural propane.

Propane is in high demand because farmers need it to dry crops. The fall harvest has been plagued by wet weather.

The governor's order Wednesday extends an earlier order that was
due to expire Sunday. It declares a state of emergency and exempts
agricultural propane deliveries from federal motor carrier regulations on drivers' hours of service.

The order expires at midnight Dec. 5.
