President Obama will address the nation regarding his plans for Afghanistan Tuesday night.

The President is expected to say that he'll send 30-thousand extra U.S. troops to Afghanistan.

Here in South Dakota, it's unclear how we will be affected.

Major Brendan Murphy from the South Dakota Army National Guard says it's too early to tell.

They are waiting, like the rest of us, to see what the President says.

Meanwhile, folks at Ellsworth Air Force Base are in the same boat.

Steven Wilson, the Chief of Media Relations from the 28th Bomb Wing, says as of right now, they haven't received any additional deployment orders.

But they will be watching Tuesday night's speech.

"I think it's very safe to say that what the President has to say this evening has the interest of a lot of people and American military members are citizens of this country, as well as wearing the uniform, so, of course there's interest in it. I think there's interest across the board," said Wilson.

You can see the President's speech at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday on KSFY.
