Power Outage in Lincoln County

Xcel Energy customers in Lincoln County were in the dark for several hours this afternoon.  The outage affected Lennox, Centerville, and Canton.

A spokesman says the power went out just before  noon, and 35-hundred customers were left without electricity.  Service was restored to the towns of Lennox and Centerville within the hour, and Canton's power came back on after about two hours.

Xcel says they're still not sure what caused the outage, but suspect the windy conditions may have caused something to get tangled up in the power lines.
