H1N1 Vaccine Shots Start Wednesday Across The Country

By KSFY Staff

Across the country Wednesday hospitals and clinics are giving the first injections of the H1N1 Swine Flu Vaccine.

The vaccine maker said that children under ten may need two shots to be protected. The hypodermic version of the vaccine means expectant mothers can now be protected from the H1N1 Virus since the spray version is not appropriate for them.

So far 81 kids have died from illnesses related to the H1N1 virus. That's about as many as usually die in a typical flu season.

The initial supply has already run out in some areas but the CDC is urging calm. 10 point 8 million doses of the vaccine are available for order. Officials say thousands of doses will be arriving in all 50 states on a weekly basis.
