This Thursday night a public H1N1 vaccination event will be held at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds in Sioux Falls.

More than 3,000 doses will be open to those in the first tier, high risk group only.

This morning Lynn DeYoung, the executive director of Minnehaha County Emergency Management, answered questions from the county commission about last week's H1N1 clinic, where only 978 doses were administered.

Those eligible to receive the vaccine thursday night are pregnant women, children ages six months to four years, people who care for infants under six months and kids age 5 to 18 years old who are at high risk for flu-related complications.

Thursday's event will run from 3 to 7 P.M. at the expo building on the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds.
