Richard “Dick” Anders Anderson, 81, of Sioux Falls, died on October 30, 2009, at Good Samaritan Center. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Monday, November 2, 2009 at Barnett-Lewis Funeral Home.
The family will greet friends from 1-2 PM prior to the service. Dick was born in Sioux Falls on April 3, 1928 and except for a short period during early childhood, spent his life in Sioux Falls. He attended Washington High School, worked at John Morrell and Company for 38 years and was a member of the Elks Club for 17 years. In July 1961, Dick married Natalie (Kellen) Green and helped to raise her six children from a previous marriage. Dick enjoyed camping, gardening, ballroom dancing, and the company of his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by parents, Enos and Katie Anderson; wife, Natalie; brother, Willard Anderson. Survivors include six children, Kathy Penney (Pat) and Patti Martin (Tom Norris) both of Sioux Falls, Peggy Warwick (Steve) of Green Bay, WI, Michael Green (Marion) of Rapid City, SD, Tim Green (Karen) of Houston, TX, and Dennis Green of Laredo, TX, 20 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren
