Robert (Bob) Charles High was born October 16, 1948 in Sioux Falls, SD to Charles and Verna High. He past from this life on October 23, 2009. He was preceded in death by his parents.
On October 18, 1975 he married Corinne Voelker. Together they had two children, Rob and Becky. He was survived by his wife Corinne, his son Rob (Carrie) and their son Trey, his daughter Becky (Joe) Harris and their expected child, his sister Gladys (Paul) Rohrer, and several nieces and nephews. He graduated from O’Gorman High School in 1967. He worked as a salesman for Rich Brothers for 33 years. He was very active in youth athletics including 25 years as a volunteer and coach at the YMCA, 8 years as a member of the Washington High School Booster Club, 15 years working on the Presidents Bowl committee where he served as president in 2001, and many years of coaching youth baseball and bowling. He was active as a member of St Lambert’s Parish and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
His love after retirement was his involvement with the High School Athletic Association where he worked at track, football, basketball, and girls volleyball events. During the summer months he enjoyed working at the bike rental shop at Falls Park. He enjoyed going to Augustana basketball games, watching the Stampede, watching horse racing, and traveling. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and was a proud and loving grandfather to his grandson Trey and his expected grandchild. He will be greatly missed by those lucky to share his life.
Visitation will be Tuesday, 5 PM at St. Lambert Church with a Rosary and a Scripture Vigil at 7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, 10:00 AM at St. Lambert Church with burial to follow at St. Michael Cemetery.
