USD Men Headed Back to National Tournament
INDIANAPOLIS, IND. --- The University of South Dakota men’s basketball team received the #4 seed for the upcoming NCAA Division II North Central Regional Tournament to be held in Winona, Minn. The Coyotes will face #5 seed Nebraska-Kearney in the first round of the tournament on Saturday, March 10, with a start time to be announced early this upcoming week.
This is the fourth consecutive year South Dakota has earned a berth in the NCAA Division II National Tournament, which extends the program’s school record. The Coyotes will be making their 12th overall appearance in the national tourney.
Should USD defeat Nebraska-Kearney in the first round, it will face the winner of #1 Winona State/#8 St. Cloud State on Sunday, March 11. The other side of the bracket features #2 Minnesota State squaring off against #7 Fort Lewis and #3 Metropolitan State taking on #6 Adams State on Saturday, with the winners of those games meeting in the other regional semifinal on Sunday. The regional championship game is slated for Tuesday, March 13.
The Coyotes enter the regional with an overall record of 23-6 and earned a share of the North Central Conference regular season title with a 10-2 mark. USD captured its second NCC Postseason Tournament title in the last three years earlier today with a 97-86 victory over Minnesota State in the conference championship game.

USD, Augie Women Earn Berths

The Coyotes, who are 22-8 on the season, will face #6 seed Concordia-St. Paul in the first round of the tournament on Friday, March 9, with a start time to be announced early this upcoming week.
Should USD defeat the Golden Bears in the first round, it will face the winner of #2 Augustana/#7 Nebraska-Kearney on Saturday, March 10. The other side of the bracket features #1 North Dakota squaring off against #8 MSU Moorhead and #4 Regis taking on #5 Metropolitan State on Saturday, with the winners of those games meeting in the other regional semifinal on Sunday. The regional championship game is slated for Monday, March 12.
