Sioux Falls, SD—The Sioux Falls Stampede announced today that forward Drew Fisher has committed to the University of Minnesota for the upcoming 2007-08 season. Fisher becomes the 19th Stampede player to secure a Division I scholarship this season.

The International Falls, MN native registered 43 points (20g, 23a) in 56 games this past season. He also recorded 10 points (6g, 4a) in eight playoff games, including the game-winning goal in overtime against Indiana in the USHL Final Four semi-finals, while leading the Stampede to their first-ever Clark Cup Championship.

While at Minnesota, Fisher will join former Stampede stars Alex Goligoski, Jay Barriball and Alex Kangas. The Gophers are coming off another successful season in which they claimed the WCHA regular and post-season championships.
