Ellsworth Wins, Schilling Breaks Scoring Record

(Minneapolis)-- Ellsworth won this historic quarterfinal game over Granada-Huntley-East Chain, 59-41.

As the clock ticked down in the second half, the fans were on the edge of their seats waiting to witness history. With 1:27 on the clock, Ellsworth's Cody Schilling did not disappoint. By scoring his 23rd game point, he became Minnesota's all-time high school scoring leader with 3,366 points. He was recognized with a lengthy standing ovation by fans on both sides of the arena. The previous record was 3,365 points by Isaiah Dahlmann of Braham.

Also contributing to Ellsworth's win was Trevor Gruis, who scored 19 points and had 14 rebounds. Adam Van Der Stoep had 9 points. Schilling also had 9 rebounds in his not-to-be-forgotten game.

Granada-Huntley-East Chain was led by Tim Garry and Dan Stensland, with 12 points a piece. Garry led the team in rebounds with 8.
