(Brookings) South Dakota State volleyball coach Andrew Palileo is one of the ten remaining candidates for the head coaching position at Florida Gulf Coast.

Palileo has spent the past seven seasons with the Jacks, leading SDSU to the Summit League regular season and post-season titles this year and their first appearance in the Division-I volleyball tournament where they fell to perennial power Nebraska in the first round.

Florida Gulf Coast officials plan to conduct phone interviews Wednesday and Thursday. After that is completed, school officials plan to narrow the list to five finalists and bring them on campus for interviews.

The new coach will replace Jaye Flood who was officially fired for what the university deemed sexual harassment of a student team manager. The unanimous Atlantic Sun Coach of Year, Flood disputes the charges. She filed a federal lawsuit Jan. 18, alleging discrimination and retaliation for voicing gender-equity concerns within the athletic department.
