4 HRs help Daisuke, Red Sox beat Twins

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The Boston Red Sox got an unexpected power
surge from the bottom of their lineup in a 5-2 victory over the
Minnesota Twins.
The normally light-hitting Coco Crisp and Jed Lowrie hit
back-to-back homers to lead off the seventh. It was Crisp's first
since last September and Lowrie's first of his career. Lowrie went
3-for-4 and finished a triple shy of the cycle.
Daisuke Matsuzaka (DYS'-kay maht-soo-ZAH'-kah) gave up two runs and six hits with seven strikeouts in seven innings to remain
undefeated at 6-and-0.
Glen Perkins made his first big league start. He took a 2-1 lead
into the seventh before Crisp and Lowrie spoiled his evening. He
gave up three runs and nine hits with three strikeouts in six-plus
innings for the Twins.
Justin Morneau (more-NOH') went 2-for-4 with an RBI, while Mike
Lamb had three hits.
