Defending Champ To Meet Kalil in Match Play Final

Defending Match Play champ Tom Carlson, accepting the SDGA Match Play trophy last year, has advanced to the finals again.

CARLSON, KALIL TO MEET IN MATCH PLAY FINALE
(Aberdeen) Defending champion Tom Carlson of Sioux Falls and medalist Tim Kalil of Rapid City will meet Monday for the title in the SDGA Match Play Championship at Moccasin Creek Country Club in Aberdeen.

Carlson defeated Brian Wynia of Sioux Falls 6 and 5 in one semifinal match, while Kalil ousted Brett Egge of Sioux Falls 2 and 1 in the other.
In Sunday's quarterfinals, Kalil defeated Ross Menke of Sioux Falls 3 and 2, Egge defeated Nick Weets of Sioux Falls 2 up, Wynia defeated Geoff Mead of Rapid City in 19 holes and Carlson defeated Mitch Brunick of Harrisburg 3 and 1.

The 36-hole finale begins Monday at 8 a.m.
