Sioux Falls Canaries

By Erik Thorstenson

(Sioux Falls) 48 hours of non-stop baseball, started Friday night at the Birdcage when the Canaries hosted Grand Prairie in the first of 13-games that will be played over the next two days.

Those 13 will consist of 3 Canaries games, along with 12 amateur and youth baseball games, which will be played throughout the night.

Canaries radio voice Mtt Mola will call everygame.
Matt Meola says, "I'm looking forward to it. I think it's unique, it's fun. We're celebrating baseball here in South Dakota with youth teams, amateur teams, professional teams. If me doing this crazy thing helps bring attention to the fun that we're having out here at the ballpark, I'm all for it."
General manager Matt Hansen, "We also have lots of things going on at the park. Whether it's karoke, don't know if that will help Matt at all, but karoke, guitar hero, poker tournament...Just tons of stuff thru out the night."

The festivities will end Sunday night at seven.
