Final baseball rankings are made

WATERTOWN, S.D. (AP) - Brookings and the Dell Rapids Mudcats
lead their respective divisions in the final South Dakota amateur
baseball poll of the season.
The state amateur tourney is Aug. 6-17 at Mitchell.
Class A
1. Brookings
2. Brandon Valley
3. Pierre
4. Renner Monarchs
5. (tie) Mitchell G&F Advertising and Renner Roadrunners
Class B
1. Dell Rapids Mudcats
2. Redfield
3. Flandreau
4. Canova
5. Montrose
6. Aurora
7. Wynot, Neb.
8. Larchwood, Iowa
9. Castlewood
10. Mt. Vernon

Aurora is playing well lately. They beat #2 Brandon, #3 Flandreau (twice), and #4 Canova. Also, Aurora is 16-2 in league. Lost to #9 Castlewood by 2 runs, but beat them badly in 2nd game. Aurora played against #1 Dell Rapid Mudcats 1st game of the regular season with possibly full team while Aurora didn't have a full team. Lost 5-9. Too bad that Aurora didn't play the Mudcats again (maybe in the state tournament). Watch out for the Aurora A's in the state tournament! :)
