(Sioux Falls) For the first time in seven years, the Sioux Falls Canaries will take part in post season play as they open their best of five North Division playoff series with Sioux City Monday night at the Birdcage.

Sioux Falls will head into post season play on fire. The Birds were 17-5 in August and have won 5 straight and 13 of their last 16.

But the Canaries certainly have had their problems with the Explorers, as Sioux City took the season series from the Birds, winning 11 of the 19 games. But despite struggling against the Explorers, the Canaries are glad they got another shot at their rivals.
Manager Steve Shirley says, "I think whoever we were playing, we would have been very excited about it. But playing against Sioux City is a little bit higher level maybe because they are our rival. We're going to be a little bit more pumped. There is going to be Sioux City fans up here for the first couple of nights and I think we're going to have our fans travel down there. So I think that's a little bit higher level."

Games one and two will be at the Birdcage Monday and Tuesday, with game three, and if necessary games four and five Thursday, Friday and Saturday in Sioux City.
