There's new developments tonight surrounding Brett Favre's potential return to the NFL.
Despite reports on profootballtalk.com, Brett Favre's agent says Favre is not under contract with the Vikings.
Favre's agent Bus Cook wrote in an email Sunday to the St. Paul Pioneer Press that Favre is not under contract with the purple and gold.
The report stated that Favre has inked his John Hancock with the Vikings but Favre and the team were waiting to release the news.
The same report also speculated that the Vikings have already approved the production of official Favre jerseys with Reebok.
The Vikings and every other football fan are waiting to see how Favre's injured shoulder is coming along following surgery. Favre had arthroscopic surgery earlier this month to repair a torn biceps tendon in his right arm. Team doctors paid Favre a visit a few weeks ago to give him exercises to help him recover.
On Friday, Vikings coach Brad Childress told a Twin Cities radio station that Favre is "pain-free right now." Childress went on to say that he thinks Favre is ready to join the team, saying he believes Favre will be a "great locker-room guy and tremendous teammate."
Last week, Favre admitted on Joe Buck's HBO Live that he has been in contact with the Vikings about a possible come back, saying Minnesota would be an ideal spot for him with their great running game and good wide receivers. Favre also admitted the Vikings would be a great fit because they run the same offense he ran for 16 years in Green Bay.
Players are set to report to training camp on July 29 in Mankato.
Tune in Monday night at six to hear what Larchwood, Iowa native and current Tennessee Titan Kyle Vanden Bosch has to say about Favre's potential future with the Vikings.
