Parkston's Norden wins girls golf coach award

MITCHELL, S.D. (AP) - Eric Norden of Parkston High School has
been named girls' golf coach of the year by the South Dakota High
School Coaches Association.
Norden, who also coaches football at Parkston, guided the
Trojans to their first Class A state title this year in his third
year as head coach.
Norden credited his team's balance as a key factor in the title,
saying that three of his team members score in the 80s and three
more in the 90s.
Other nominees included John Brown of Clark/Willow Lake, Rod
Garrison of Sioux Falls O'Gorman, Kirk Hogen of Vermillion, Phil
Hunt of Rapid City Stevens, Billie Jo Indahl of South Central and
Joan Rachetto of Lead-Deadwood.
Last year's winner was Colman-Egan's Todd Schlimgen.
