Dominic Zombo, Anthony Day, Josh Holmstrom and Matt Zarbo all scored in the win for the Herd who improved to 5-1-2 on the season and into second place in the West Division.

After a back-and-forth scoreless first period the Stampede got on the board 2:04 into the second period when Dominic Zombo tallied his first career USHL goal. Zack Kamrass blasted a shot from the left point that was stopped by Lincoln netminder Jared Coreau, but Zombo stormed in for the rebound and scored to make it a 1-0 game. The Herd added to their lead at 8:29, on the powerplay, when Anthony Day blasted a shot from the high slot to make it a 2-0 game.

In the third, the Stampede added some cushion to their lead when Josh Holmstrom tallied his second of the year at 5:11. Matt Bailey brought the puck in to the Herd zone and backhanded a pass Holmstrom in the slot who danced around the goaltender and backhanded a shot into the back of the net to give the Stampede a 3-0 edge. Lincoln would turn on the pressure later in the period, but Chimienti stopped all nine shots he faced in the final period to keep the Stars off the board. The Stampede would seal the victory at 18:06, again on the powerplay, when Matt Zarbo tallied his fourth of the season on a nice backhand shot into the upper right hand corner of the net to make it a 4-0 game.

The Stampede out shot the Stars 30-23 on the night and went 2 for 7 on the powerplay while keeping Lincoln scoreless on all six of their attempts.
