Stampede's Bailey Earns Player of the Week

By Sports KSFY

The United States Hockey League (USHL) announced Monday that Sioux Falls Stampede forward Matt Bailey has been named Reebok Offensive Player-of-the-Week.

Bailey registered five points (2g, 3a) in two games over the weekend and was a plus-3. On Friday, Bailey set up two goals in the Stampede’s 4-0 shutout win over Lincoln. On Saturday, Bailey scored twice and assisted on another as the Herd topped arch rival Sioux City 7-3.

The Winnipeg, Manitoba native leads the Stampede in scoring with 12 points (6g, 6a) in nine games and is tied for the team lead in plus/minus at plus-7.

Bailey is in his first season with the Stampede, but second in the USHL. Last season, Bailey recorded 24 points (10g, 14a) in 58 games with Tri-City. He has already committed to play collegiate hockey at Alaska-Anchorage.

Bailey and the Stampede return to action this weekend when they host Tri-City and Indiana at the Sioux Falls Arena.
