RACHEL GABRIELSEN - Morning News Reporter

Rachel Gabrielsen joined the KSFY Action News team in June of 2009. Rachel travels around the community overnight bringing you the latest news on KSFY Live This Morning. Rachel grew up in Buffalo, New York and later in Cleveland, Ohio, which explains her love for the Buffalo Bills and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Rachel's journalism career began with a broadcast journalism degree from Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts. During college Rachel quickly became a manager for Emerson's award-winning college news station WEBN-TV. She became news director of the station her junior year and held that title until she graduated. During her time with WEBN Rachel traveled to cover many events like the Oscars, Red Sox spring training, and the 2005 presidential inauguration.

After college Rachel accepted her first reporting job at WHBF-TV in Rock Island, Illinois. During her time there she enjoyed exploring the Midwest and meeting people from all different walks of life. Rachel received a political science minor in college and enjoys following the latest on politics. While working in Rock Island she was able to meet different presidential candidates and cover the Iowa Caucuses.

When she's not searching for overnight news Rachel enjoys cooking, singing, and playing guitar. She loves anything football-related and meeting new people whenever possible.

Rachel is excited to be part of the Action News Team and is looking forward to becoming part of the Sioux Falls community. Feel free to email Rachel at
