I have been a proud member of the KSFY Action News team since June of 1992. A lot has changed in that time, the community, the area, and me. This area is home to me. I was born and raised in Spencer, Iowa, graduated from the University of South Dakota in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication, minor in Spanish and an emphasis in Speech
I work daily on putting together the Avera Medical Minutes which you can catch Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday on KSFY News at 10:00.
I got married to the love of my life Shannon Brown on June 15, 2008 in Jamaica. Shannon has two wonderful children, Parker and Phoebe, whom I love and as a bonus they all get along with my first baby, George (American Eskimo dog). Shannon and I are also mommy and daddy to two wiener dogs. Lucy and Ned. We adopted Ned from Dakota Dachshund Rescue which has become an organization near and dear to my heart.
I'm lucky to have my family in the viewing area too. My mom lives in Orange City and my sister and her family live in LeMars. My niece Dani attends the University of Iowa.
Through the years I have found great joy in volunteering for MDA, SD Special Olympics, Active Generations, Make-A-Wish Foundation of SD and the School Based Mentor Program and I'm a past board member of DakotAbilities.
I'm blessed to work with great people and meet other great people everyday. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for watching.
You can catch me mornings on KSFY News from 5:00-7:00 AM.
