HyVee, Avera and Curaquick have collaborated to make health care convenient and affordable. Two of the HyVee Grocery Stores in Sioux Falls now house Curaquick Clinics in collaboration with Avera. Convenient medical clinics are a growing national trend so it makes sense Sioux Falls offers them too.

Like so many other Midwesterners, Todd McDaniel has had his share of sinus infections this winter. He moved to Sioux Falls from Michigan a year ago and doesn't have health insurance. The Curaquick Clinic Avera inside the newly remodeled HyVee on 49th and Louise has been a the solution to what ails him.

Todd says, "My doctor is an Avera doctor and he actually recommended it coming here. I don't have insurance so the cost is huge, so I decided to check this out and it's been great."

The Curaquick Clinic Avera is living up to it's name. For most patients the wait is 10 minutes or less and when you are done and diagnosed the over-the-counter medications are conveniently positioned in an aisle in front of the clinic and off to the side is the pharmacy.

Todd says, "Yeah, you get your script, get it filled and you are in and out quick. It's important."

Certified Nurse Practitioner Muriel Engbrecht is the full time provider at the Curaquick on 49th. She says their extended hours during the week and being open on the weekends has been a real plus for patients.

Muriel says, "It's designed to provide quick convenient care for common family illnesses such as strep throat, sinus infections, cough and colds, rashes, bladder infections. Those types of things."

Muriel says they are really here to supplement your care not replace it. If you are in dire need of emergency care, they will call for an ambulance to get you to the hospital or set up an appointment for you that day at McGreevy Clinic Avera.

Muriel says, "we participate in several health plans and Medicare, but you don't have to have insurance to be treated here. We are offering a promotional $25 fee for an exam right now (regularly $49) plus there will be some additional costs depending on lab work.

Convenience, affordability, and quality care linked to Avera. It's the perfect prescription for Todd .
