The Avera McKennan Laboratory is the First Hospital Lab in the United States to Gain ISO 15189 SM Accreditation. It's based on the International Organizations for Standardization for laboratory technical competence and continual quality management. What that means for patients is our Avera Medical Minute.

Avera McKennan Lab Director Leo Serrano says, "This accreditation means the quality of our laboratory is the highest it can be." This award is a really big deal, but it boils down to outstanding patient care through accurate tests.
