Each year in the United States about 16,000 women are diagnosed with invasive cervical cancer. Tragically, 5,000 of those women will die from the disease. We don't want you to be one of them. It's Cervical Cancer Awareness Month and it's our Avera Medical Minute tonight.

Dr. Luis Rojas, Gynecologic Oncologist with the Avera Women's Center for Gynecologic Cancer, tells us what causes cervical cancer and the course of treatment once it's discovered.
