There is a double dose of troubling findings from a leading medical journal this week. There has been a dramatic increase in the number of kids hospitalized with dangerous staph infections over the past decade and the "bugs" are not easily killed by most prescriptions.
A study from the Journal "Pediatrics" involved Methicillin-resistant Staph Infections, called MRSA and found disease incidence increased 10-fold since 1999. Dr. Kimberlee McKay with Avera McKennan tells us the reason for the spike and if we've seen more cases locally.
