The survival rate if someone experiences cardiac arrest outside of the hospital is only 8 %, but the use and availability of AED's or Automated External Defibrillators has helped to increase that survival rate immensely. Marketing and Community Relations Director for the Avera Heart Hospital Lindsey Meyers tells us about a program between her hospital and Sioux Falls Fire Rescue that has helped to place more than 800 defibrillators into the community.
