A Carotid Stent procedure is a newer technique used to open the carotid arteries in the neck.It's done in a catheter lab, verses surgery, which used to be the only option.

Dr. Michael Bacharach with North Central Heart Institute explains how the procedure works and why they are studying one particular part of it.
