Avera McKennan OB/GYN Dr. Kimberlee McKay says, "Yes, I am a multiple and my mom had a 2 1/2 year old at home when she brought my sister and I home so it's a busy time and requires a lot of coordination. I think the bottom line is you have to let some stuff go like housework and concentrate on the babies and the other little kids and not worry about the small things.
Q: On the flip side, as an OB/GYN does mom y need to be careful and take care of herself since everyone else is demanding so much attention?
A: Yes. I think this is where other family members are really important. Sometimes the babies don't feed on the same schedule right away. One will finish and then the other one will be awake and so pretty soon mom AND dad aren't getting any sleep. So family members if you have that support, come over and let mom and dad sleep to give them a break."
