Exercise Physiologist Derek Ferley at the Avera Sports Institute in Sioux Falls says, "If you are really interested in running a faster time than you have in the past what we can do is help you find what your ideal pace should be and what you ideal interval length should be. With just a few quick and easy running tests we can determine those two things and then we can set you up on a program. In the course of 6 to 8 weeks or longer you can maximize the time and energy you put in your training. Distance runners are notorious for going out and running the same lengths, the same distances at the same pace and so if they want to get better they have to up the intensity or up the training volume. We can help them do it in a smart way. There are a number of published research articles that we can base marathon training on so we are not guessing. We are using proven tried technology that already out there."
