This fall Kari Nelson will graduate with her class of 17 from Lake Preston High School.
But today's Scholar of the Week isn't looking too far into the future - she has plenty on her plate right now.
Kari Nelson has just finished an entire summer working at Nesodak Bible Camp...and loved it.
"It was the best summer of my life. I grew a lot being around all college kids and a few high schoolers thrown in," says Kari.
It's a good thing she enjoyed her summer because now she's hard at work, back to school, studying calculus, physics and American Government.
"Oh there's Spanish too, I forgot about that one."
Outside the classroom Kari takes stats for basketball and volleyball, is in choir and band, National Honor Society, and is on the staffs of both the yearbook and school paper.
This stellar student isn't planning too far into the future.
"I don't really have a plan yet, I'm hoping this year I'll kind of narrow it down. I don't have a college or major, I'm just going with it."
However her teachers have an idea where Kari's future might lead her.
"I think her main goal will be to help. How she can help other people achieve their goals," says one of Kari's teachers Treva Casper.
A hundred dollar scholarship is headed Kari's way from the Kingsbury Cooperative - a local Touchstone Energy Cooperative.
