Avera Medical Minute: Vote Online to Support ACI Live 10/14/10

Posted: Updated:

The Avera Cancer Institute is up against other hospitals for a LIVESTRONG Foundation grant to bring a Creative Center's Artist in Residence Program to the new ACI. The hospital with the most votes wins!  The grant will allow the ACI to purchase art supplies, pay for an Artist-in-Residence program, fund staff training and support our healing arts program.

On a national level, the Creative Center is a community of artists, cancer patients and survivors, trustees, donors, and friends who are dedicated to bringing creative arts to people living with cancer.  The Creative Center's Artists-in-Residence offers patients the opportunity to learn about and become absorbed in their own creative resources as they meet the challenges of diagnosis, treatment and survivorship. The program will work bedside and in small group settings with men, women and children—in oncology units, bone marrow transplant units, intensive care/respiratory units, hospice and palliative care programs. Our hope is to bring a Creative Center to our ACI since they have the best model for this type of program.

We are asking for people to go online and vote for the Avera Cancer Institute – the facility with the most votes will win the grant money.  You can vote once per email address.
