Avera McKennan would like to further our ministry of help and healing by providing 350 families with gift boxes containing ingredients for a home-cooked Thanksgiving meal, as well as kitchen staples.Departments, groups, individuals and their families can sign up on Sharepoint to purchase items for a Thanksgiving meal and/or deliver gift boxes to a family. Estimated cost of the dinner is $55.
The Salvation Army is gathering information about families in need. If you know of a family that would benefit, please have them call the Salvation Army at 338-6649. Please ensure that food is in boxes, cans or jars and not outdated. Homemade food items cannot be accepted.
Turkey or Ham Gift Certificates will be available in The Gift Shop in November. The Gift Certificates should be included in the box with the Holiday meal. All meals including roasting pan should be in stackable boxes (for example: apple or potato boxes).
Gift Boxes will be collected in Volunteer Services beginning November 9th through November 17th during the hours of 8am-1pm. The Salvation Army will be picking up the boxes Nov. 18th. Department deliveries to the families will be made on Saturday, November 20th.
