Clark senior interested in occupational therapy

Posted: Updated:

Today's Scholar of the Week was born and raised on a South Dakota cattle farm.

As one of four siblings she's learned to have a helping heart and that's had an impact on what could be Tess Johnson's future career choice.

"I kinda like any sport I'm in at the time - I think that's my favorite!" laughs Tess Johnson.

There are plenty of sports to decide between - like cross country, track, basketball and volleyball.

Our Scholar of the Week Tess Johnson enjoys helping elementary school kids and people in general, which has her thinking about pursuing a career in occupational therapy.

"I'm trying to decide between SDSU and University of Mary in Bismark," says Tess.

A loaded class schedule isn't to be found with this Clark senior.

Government, psychology and English make up her schedule.

"It's like the easiest I've had - I crammed so I could enjoy time with my friends."

And besides time with friends, N.H.S. and F.C.C.L.A. keep Tess busy.

"She's an overall good student. She works hard at what she does," says Tammie Paulson.

Codington-Clark Electric Cooperative is sending Tess a hundred dollar scholarship for her hard work.

That's a local Touchstone Energy Cooperative.
