He may not play his viola in his college orchestra, but Jacob Sellers says music is a hobby he'll enjoy all life long.
But that's not the only passion of today's Scholar of the Week.
"For elementary school I wanted to be a fireman, then pharmacy took over," explains this aspiring pharmacist.
"I'll be going to SDSU for pharmacy."
He doesn't run from hard work.
Wanting a new challenge Jacob Sellers joined the swim team last year.
He swims four to five times each week in addition to his busy class load.
"Right after school we use their pool, I'm also a lifeguard there," says Jacob.
Jacob says calculus is his favorite class.
He also loves music and plays viola in Watertown High School's orchestra.
"I can get lost in music and express myself in ways like no other, others experience that too," says Jacob.
Jacob's teachers know his leadership in and out of the classroom will be a big asset on the path to his chosen career.
Math teacher Dawn Florey says, "He's got quick wit and I appreciate the great leadership he demonstrates in my classes."
For being our Scholar of the Week Jacob will receive a hundred dollar scholarship from Codington-Clark Electric Cooperative - a local Touchstone Energy Cooperative.
