Woman dies in fatal crash in Edmunds County

A Mobridge woman died in a two-vehicle crash, three miles west of Ipswich on US 12 on Friday.

Cole T. Adema, 21, of Mobridge, was driving a 1995 Honda Accord eastbound on US 12 about three miles west of Ipswich. His vehicle lost control and slid sideways into the westbound lane where it collided with a 1998 Buick LeSabre driven by Wayne R. Henderson, 56, of Lodgepole.

Cole T. Adema was taken to St. Luke's Hospital in Aberdeen with life-threatening injuries. A passenger in the Honda Accord, Miranda K.

Adema, 20, of Mobridge was pronounced dead at the scene. Wayne R.

Henderson was taken to St. Luke's Hospital in Aberdeen with serious non-life threatening injuries.

Both drivers and passenger were wearing seatbelts.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating. Edmunds County Sheriff's Office, Ipswich Ambulance and Ipswich Fire and Rescue assisted.
