To the world he's just you everyday Panther 3000 6x6 Aircraft Rescue Fire Engine, but to children everywhere and those still young at heart, there is much more to this machine that meets the eye.
"Of course it's Sentinel Prime! Who else would it be?" Said Josh VanLaecken.
That's right his name is Sentinel Prime and is just one of the stars of the new "Transformers" movie and despite the sweltering heat drew quite the crowd of fans Friday afternoon.
"Our dad just said we're going to go to a thing where you can see an actual truck from the Transformers movie." Said one young fan.
"He's just totally new and it's really cool!" Said another fan.
This impressive piece of machinery was built by Rosenbauer just across the border in Wyoming, Minnesota.
The fire engine manufacturer has a plant in Lyons, SD as well and used this to opportunity to give kids of all ages the chance to see Hollywood up close.
"We 're sharing the truck with the community because anytime you have a super cool movie star in town it's nice to be able to come and visit it." Said Rosenbauer Marketing Associate Neil Chaney.
While the machine costs roughly $850,000 a few lucky "kids" got the opportunity of a lifetime to sit inside.
"I will be on my best behavior! this is the best day of my life." Said Dan Mancini.
Mancini VanLaecken actually stopped by on their way to the see the new movie and said they will keep their eyes peeled to catch a glimpse of the machine they saw up close and personal.
"Since I was a little kid I had an Optimus Prime figure, now I get to live the real thing! It's a dream come true." Said Mancini.
Everyone knows that this is just a truck, but seeing a piece movie magic firsthand gives those of us with an imagination the ability believe that this impressive machine could in fact be a robot in disguise.
Sentinel Prime was on display until 8 o'clock Friday night at the 41st street Home Federal Bank before continuing on his tour with a stop in Fremont, Nebraska on Saturday.
