Events Center Update: Operating Costs

We now have a better idea how much it will cost to operate the proposed Sioux Falls Events Center.

The city's Director of Finance Tracy Turbak made a presentation just moments ago to city council members.

The finance department is combining three venues, the Convention Center, Arena and Events Center to come up with the costs.

For all three facilities it would cost between $9 million and $16 million to operate.

But the city expects money to come in from the cost of rental facilities, food and beverage sales, premium seating along with parking fees.
