Former Roosevelt High School forward, now Florida Gator, will be spared jail time after violating the terms of his previous suspended sentence.
Minnehaha County State's Attorney Aaron McGowan filed a motion to revoke 19 year-old Cody Larson's suspended sentence. Larson flew back to Sioux Falls this weekend to appear in Minnehaha County courthouse, Friday morning. He arrived with his attorney Dick Travis and some family members.
His hearing was prompted by a crime he and teammate Erik Murphy committed on April 10, 2011. The two were arrested in Florida and charged with third degree burglary. A few months later, that charge was dismissed to misdemeanor criminal trespassing. That violation was during Larson's previous suspension after sharing prescription painkillers with a Roosevelt High School teammate in 2010.
Minnehaha County Judge John Schlimgen first revoked but later re-imposed a 120 day suspension. Larson also was given two more years of probation on several terms and conditions.
