We've caught up with countless city leaders along with those who've lead campaigns for and against the events center. Now we find out what others have to say in reaction to Tuesday night's election results.
The majority of people who voted 'yes' in the election are pleased with the results.
"I think it's good. We need a new events center. Going to some of the Stampede games, the place needs an upgrade so I'm glad it passed I'm happy about it," Alex Bahney said.
"I'm glad it passed. I think it'll be great for the city I just hope the plans were for the betterment of the city. We'll see what happens," Ken Alvine said.
Some of those who voted no were left a little surprised.
"I don't think we needed it but Sioux Falls is going to get it," Mike Brown said.
Whether it was a yes or no vote, the more than 40% 40,000+ voter turnout has left many with very few words.
"Shocked. I was hugely surprised they got that kind of vote out for it," Mike Brown said.
"I though tit was fantastic. I was really proud of everyone for coming out to vote. That's a super turnout even though it didn't go our way," Alexandra Szameit said.
"To see what Sioux Falls people are turnout out to something they really believe in that they want to change or not to change, it's awesome to see everyone turn out for it," Alex Bahney said.
