Today is the 11th day of the 11th month of the 11th year of the century. In other words, we know it as 11/11/11. If that doesn't throw you for a loop. Meet Hannah Streich of Marietta, MN. Today, she's celebrating her 11th birthday.
"It's very exciting and I just like it. I think it's unique," Hannah Streich said.
Unique, absolutely. Most kids would call their birthday the biggest day of the year. But Hannah knows this particular one is even better. And she has the proof - a custom made t-shirt and her birthday documents to show.
"I've been in the newspaper and I've gotten a bunch of cards and it's like overwhelming I guess. It's very exciting and you feel good about it," Hannah said.
Mom and Dad, Janice and Paul, say from the moment Hannah was born, they knew she'd be one of a kind. And they were right.
"Hannah is very independent, I think she'll go far in life. She has a strong head on her shoulders I believe," Janice said.
And her 11th birthday is just one more thing that makes Hannah a special one.
"There aren't very many children that were born that they can say have their birthday on a day like this. For her to be able to celebrate this day is just a lucky day for her," Janice Streich said.
"Everyone at school was like 'oh I saw you in the paper' and I say 'I know' it was pretty exciting," Hannah said.
She'll enjoy some presents, friends and cake, but will always know this birthday comes, literally, once in a lifetime.
