Pavilion Spotlight: Singin' in the Rain

Posted: Updated:

It's not often singing in the rain is a good thing in November in South Dakota.

But it's a great thing when the 1950s classic is played where it belongs - on the silver screen.

It's the latest option you have for family friendly fun at the Washington Pavilion.

It's a chance to enjoy a little piece of yesteryear and celebrate six decades of looking good on the silver screen.

"It's the 60th anniversary of Singin' in the Rain, and because of the anniversary we thought we'd highlight this work of art," says the Pavilion's Michele Wellman.

Singin' in the Rain is the number one musical of all time - beating The Wizard of Oz and Westside Story.

Wellman explains, "The screen is a wonderful experience, we're trying something different this month."

A red carpet ticket will get you food and film, or you can just buy admission and enjoy the film in the classic Belbas Theatre at the Washington Pavilion.

"With Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds, there's amazing dancing and singing. In the rain."

And you don't even have to get wet.

Singin' in the Rain will play at this month's Reel Dakota Film Society Saturday and Sunday November 19th and 20th.

For times and tickets call the Pavilion Box Office.
