Posted: Updated:

(Sioux Falls ) The Sioux Falls Skyforce will soon have a new home to play in, and it won't be the new Sioux Falls Events Center.

They'll play in Sanford Health's Pentagon, which is going to be built out at the budding Sanford Youth Sports Complex.

Here's what the Sanford Health Pentagon will look like, the 18-million dollar facility, will have multiple basketball courts, along with a three-thousand seat arena, where the Skyforce will play their home games.

Mike Heineman/Skyforce Owner "We're a 35-hundred seat event  This will be about 3-thousand seats, so it'll be just the right size.  It will be sold out many nights. It'll be good for our fans and players."

The Pentagon, will be much more than a home to the Skyforce, it'll one of the top youth sports training facilities in the midwest.

Nate White/Sanford Health "Our goal primarily is to get kids active.  It'll be used for volleyball and boys and girls basketball.  Secondarily it will be used for optimal training, to help develop athletes from all over the area."

The Force have been playing in the Sioux Falls Arena since the franchise started in 1989. Iin the topsy turvy world of minor league basketball, this ensures the future of the franchise.

Heineman "To have our practice facilty and our arena all in one place, will be great for us. No other minor league basketball team in the country will have this."

White "With the Skyforce, we able to add the three-thousand seat arena. We'll be able to host other events as well, maybe in high school sports, to showcase the athletes in our area."

The plans are to start building this coming spring.  It will be open in the fall of 2013.
