The Hawarden Fire Department was called to a storage and manufacturing building around 10:00 Tuesday night. The building is off Highway 12 and 7th Street near the Hawarden golf course.
Crews on the scene tell KSFY the facility is owned by Hawarden Machine and Tool, but the Farmers Co-Op rents out part of the building. Crews also say there were trucks and tractors inside the building. Chief John Strong with the Hawarden Fire Department says the building was fully engulfed and it took crews over three hours to put the flames out. The cause of the fire is unknown and it is currently under investigation. People on the scene believe the building is a total loss. No one was hurt.
