AA

1 – Mitchell (8-1), 25

3 – SF O'Gorman (8-2), 16

 The Mitchell Kernels held onto the #1 spot by extending its winning streak to seven games. #2 Pierre won its sixth straight but fell from a first-place tie with Mitchell to #2.#3 SF O'Gorman (8-2) defeated three in-state opponents to increase its winning streak to 46 games against South Dakota opponents. #4 SF Washington lost to Huron, 49-48, and fell out of the rankings. Sioux Falls Lincoln won and moved from #5 to #4. SF Roosevelt won three games and jumped into the rankings at #5

2 – Dell Rapids (7-1), 20, previously #1

3 – Garretson (7-1) 11, unranked

4 – Deuel (7-0), 9, unranked

5 – Sioux Falls Christian (7-3), 8, unranked

 Class A had a major shakeup this week. Previously #1 Dell Rapids dropped to #2 after a 2-1 week, including a loss to Sioux Falls Christian, which moved into the #5 spot with wins over previously #3 Dakota Valley and #1 Dell Rapids. St. Thomas More lost for the first time (out of state opponent) but moved to the top of the rankings. Garretson moved into the #3 spot with three wins.Unbeaten Deuel jumped into the rankings at #4 followed Sioux Falls Christian. #3 Dakota Valley, #4 McLaughlin and #5 McCook Central/Montrose all lost and fell out of the rankings. McLaughlin did receive some support. Dell Rapids and Sioux Falls Christian will play again on Tuesday night in Dell Rapids.

3 – Viborg /Hurley (6-1), 15

4 – Sully Buttes (7-0), 10

5 – Langford (6-0), 3

 The top four teams in Class B all won and held their positions in the rankings. Unbeaten Langford moved into the poll for the first time. Rosholt won its eighth straight game to open the season, including a win over #5 Waverly/South Shore, and received support in the rankings, barely being edged out by Langford.

Sioux Falls Lincoln (4-2)

 Despite not playing Sioux Falls Washington moved into the top spot in close balloting. Mitchell, which fell to Sioux Falls Lincoln for its first loss of the season, dropped to #2. Aberdeen Central, which has won seven straight since a season opening defeat, moved up to #3 and received two first place ballots. Brandon Valley won but dropped to #4. Sioux Falls Roosevelt stayed at #5 and Sioux Falls Lincoln received support and barely missed moving into the rankings.

2 – Wagner (9-0), 20

3 – Sisseton (8-0), 15

4 – Parkston (7-1), 10

5 – Beresford (5-1), 3.5

5 – Elkton/Lake Benton (8 -1), 1.5

 The Class A rankings remained the same except for Beresford breaking a tie for fifth with Elkton/Lake Benton and just barely moving into the #5 spot. #1 St. Thomas More continued to win to hold onto the top spot, ahead of two other unbeaten Wagner and Sisseton. STM has outscored its opponents, 570-270 and average 63 points a game. Wagner is scoring at 63ppg and also sit at 9-0. Sisseton, the defending state champion,now owns victories in 31 of their last 33 games with only two losses by a total of three points. #4 Parkston and #2 Wagner will play on Jan. 12. Despite a pair of wins, Elkton/Lake Benton fell out of the poll but still received support.

2 – Estelline (8-0), 20

3 – Summit (7-2), 15

4 – Warner (7-1), 10

5 – Centerville (6-2), 3, previously unranked

Kimball/White Lake (8-1), 2, previously #5

 The only change in Class B was Centerville re-entering the poll at #5, barely edging past Kimball/White Lake. Herreid/Selby, which has scored over 64 points a game, continues to be the #1 team. Estelline stayed at #2 and has won every game by 19 points, except for a six-point verdict against DeSmet. Kimball/White Lake suffered its first loss to Class A unbeaten Miller.
