Man sentenced to 11 Years for sexual abuse

The U.S. Attorney's office says a 52-year-old Eagle Butte man has been sentenced to nearly 11 years in prison for sexual abuse.

Jerry Matthew Chasing Hawk was charged with the August 2009 sexual abuse of an Eagle Butte woman in Fort Thompson.

He was indicted by a federal grand jury in Pierre in April and found guilty in October.

United States District Judge Roberto Lange on Monday sentenced Chasing Hawk to 131 months in custody and 5 years of supervised release.

He was immediately turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshal.
