One night you might be in the mood for a musical, another you might be jonesing for some jazz, or maybe its the music of Mozart you're craving. Whatever art your heart desires, the Washington Pavilion is the place to go.
"We've really discovered that we're inter-connected and we share a lot of audiences," said Robert Joyce, Executive Director of the Sioux Falls Jazz and Blues Society. "We share a lot of the same things, so being under the same building accentuates that. We can communicate faster and better."
Recently, the Sioux Falls Jazz and Blues Society moved into the Pavilion. It joins the South Dakota Symphony in the beautiful historic building on South Main.
"(It) provides synergy for the arts to work together. It will reduce misunderstandings and add to programming. We'll look unified," said Pavilion President Larry Toll.
Efficiency is what the three organizations are hoping to achieve. They will share the same ticketing, which will save money and provide a more stream-lined service for the patron.
"It's about collaboration," said South Dakota Symphony Executive Director Jennifer Boomgaarden. "It's about working with out partners to create efficiencies, so the South Dakota Symphony being here in the Washington Pavilion is a great example of that."
